Special Consultations for Teenagers and Young Adults

Philosophy & Learning Design Coaching for Teens and Young Adults

In these sessions, we focus on:

  • Learning Planning & Personalised Growth: Using principles from learning design, we help students create a structured, practical plan to approach their studies, set achievable goals, and manage their time and projects effectively.

  • Well-being and Resilience: We talk through challenges, from stress and indecision to social pressures and self-doubt, exploring meaningful ways to strengthen resilience.

  • Self-Discovery and Aspiration Building: Through reflection and open conversation, students clarify their values and goals, helping them see a path that feels authentic and motivating.

  • Support for Motivation and Focus: Together, we explore strategies for maintaining focus, building confidence, and turning plans into actionable steps.

A Space for Authentic Growth

At the heart of these sessions is a focus on helping young people design their own learning journey in a way that is intentional, achievable, and inspiring. Guided by the values of Ngā uara tiaki taiohi (Youth Work Core Values), each session is a safe, respectful, and encouraging environment aligned with the ethical standards of Ara Taiohi.

Whether over Zoom or in person in Christchurch, these sessions are flexible to fit individual schedules. Whether you are a student, or the parent of one, these consultations are designed to empower young people to take ownership of their learning and personal growth.
