Workshops for Professionals

Philosophy-Inspired Learning Design Workshops

You don’t always have the budget to hire a dedicated learning designer, and sometimes it’s more effective to develop expertise within your team. My workshops offer a practical and reflective approach that combines philosophy, learning design, and group coaching, helping teams design content that is engaging, meaningful, and learner-centered.

How it works:

  • Philosophy as a lens: Using philosophical tools, we explore key questions: Who is the learner? What does meaningful learning look like? How can we foster curiosity and reflection? This helps the team clarify the purpose and vision behind every piece of content.

  • Learning design in practice: Participants apply instructional design principles directly to the content they are responsible for. We focus on clarity, engagement, accessibility, and impact.

  • Group coaching for collaboration: Through guided group coaching, team members clarify roles, surface assumptions, and co-create solutions. This strengthens collaboration, encourages creative problem-solving, and builds confidence in decision-making.

Complementary one-to-one coaching:
For team members who want deeper support, I offer individual coaching. This can include technical guidance on tools for building courses, tailored support for applying design principles to specific projects, and reflection on professional practice. For example, a facilitator who previously ran workshops can receive one-on-one coaching to translate that experience into structured, high-quality online or hybrid content.

What participants gain:

  • The ability to design content in-house, reducing dependency on external learning designers

  • Enhanced critical thinking and reflective skills, inspired by philosophy

  • Practical experience in learning design frameworks and tools

  • A collaborative mindset for innovative, effective teamwork

Format:

  • Series of half-day or full-day workshops, or a condensed intensive session

  • Combination of discussion, practical exercises, and real content design

  • Small groups encouraged to allow meaningful dialogue and personalised guidance

By combining philosophical reflection, practical design skills, and coaching, your team not only learns how to create learning content, but also why it matters, resulting in work that is intentional, effective, and engaging.
